Meet Timothy Hill Ranch

The inspiring origins of Timothy Hill Ranch trace back to a young boy's heartfelt dream that blossomed into a lasting legacy of love and second chances. In the 1970s, 13-year-old Timothy Hill, moved by the struggles of foster children in his parents' care, saved his paper route earnings to envision a ranch with horses and vast fields where troubled kids could feel safe and loved. Tragically killed in a bicycle accident in 1972, Timothy's vision was embraced by his parents, Jerrell and Fern Hill, who opened the ranch's doors on November 15, 1980, using community donations and unwavering faith to turn grief into generational impact.

Timothy Hill Ranch started as a beacon of hope and transformation nestled on 86 acres in the heart of Riverhead, New York, where wide-open spaces, horse farms, and a family-like atmosphere create an ideal environment for healing and growth. Founded in 1980 as a Christ-centered nonprofit, the ranch serves as a residential campus offering group homes and transitional living for troubled young men aged 13-25, many of whom have faced abuse, neglect, foster care challenges, or other crises. With six homes, two horse farms, gardens, beehives, and an apple orchard, residents engage in daily chores like baling hay, tending animals, and harvesting eggs, fostering responsibility, discipline, and a deep connection to nature.

Today, Timothy Hill Ranch has expanded across six states and reaches 1000 of young people in their time of need as it continues to thrive as a haven, blending vocational training, education, family therapy, and spiritual guidance to empower residents toward independent, purposeful lives, earning praise from judges and community leaders for its success stories and commitment to youth who often have nowhere else to turn.. Enrolled in local schools or workforce programs, young men build skills in areas like career counseling and job readiness, while optional faith-based elements help rebuild trust and relationships.
