About the Executive Pastor

The Executive Pastor serves as the Senior Pastor's chief ministry partner, providing strategic leadership for the operational, organizational, and administrative life of Broadmoor Baptist Church. This leader ensures that the vision of the church is translated into effective execution by leading staff, strengthening systems, and cultivating a healthy organizational culture.

As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, the Executive Pastor creates an environment where ministry thrives by freeing the Senior Pastor to focus on preaching, vision, leadership development, and shepherding the congregation.

The Executive Pastor's responsibilities include:

Strategic Leadership

  • Partner closely with the Senior Pastor to implement the church's mission, vision, and strategic priorities.
  • Lead the execution of organizational initiatives across all ministries.
  • Ensure alignment between ministry objectives, staffing, resources, and organizational priorities.
  • Drive strategic planning while identifying opportunities for continual organizational improvement.

Staff Leadership & Organizational Health

  • Lead, coach, and develop ministry and operational leaders.
  • Serve as a bridge between the Church Council and Church staff
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, excellence, and servant leadership.
  • Oversee staff development, performance management, hiring processes, and organizational structure.
  • Help cultivate a healthy staff culture rooted in trust, unity, and spiritual maturity.

Operations & Administration

  • Collaborate as needed with the CFO regarding budgeting, reporting, capital projects, and financial sustainability.
  • Oversee church operations including facilities, communications, human resources, technology, risk management, and administrative systems.
  • Develop systems and processes that improve organizational effectiveness and ministry support.
  • Ensure campus environments and operational infrastructure effectively serve the mission of the church.

Leadership Partnership

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the Senior Pastor and Executive Leadership Team.
  • Assist with leadership meetings, strategic planning, governance support, and ministry initiatives.
  • Help identify organizational challenges while developing practical, scalable solutions.
  • Champion organizational alignment, communication, and execution across all ministries.

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree from an accredited seminary or graduate program preferred.
  • Significant leadership experience in a church setting or comparable organization.

  • Experience overseeing operations and organizational systems.
