Meet Grapevine's First

Grapevine’s First exists to be a church for every generation, meeting people right where they are with biblical truth so that all may come to know and follow Jesus. With over 150 years of rich history and a landmark campus just steps from historic Main Street, the church continues to serve as an enduring beacon of faith and connection in the community.

During this season, we are seeking a Worship Pastor who is first and foremost a disciple of Jesus, a shepherd of people, and a leader who understands that worship ministry is about forming disciples—not simply producing services. This individual will provide spiritual leadership to the worship and production ministries while helping create worship gatherings that are biblically faithful, Christ-centered, and excellent.

About the Worship Pastor

The Worship Pastor provides vision, leadership, and oversight for all worship and production ministries of Grapevine's First. Working alongside the Senior Pastor and ministry staff, this individual will cultivate meaningful corporate worship, develop volunteer leaders, oversee production ministries, and help advance the mission of the church through worship.

This role requires both pastoral leadership and organizational excellence. The successful candidate will be equally comfortable shepherding people, developing leaders, planning worship services, and overseeing the technical execution that supports each gathering.

The Worship Pastor's responsibilities include:

Lead Worship

• Provide leadership for all weekend worship services and major church gatherings.
• Plan worship services in partnership with the Senior Pastor and teaching team.
• Select biblically faithful music and creative elements that support the preaching of God's Word.
• Lead worship vocally and/or instrumentally.

Lead the Worship & Production Ministry

• Oversee audio, video, lighting, presentation, and livestream ministries.
• Ensure worship services are well planned and executed with excellence.
• Maintain and improve worship technology and production systems.
• Coordinate rehearsals, schedules, and ministry communication.

Provide Ministry Leadership

• Lead and develop worship and production leaders.
• Collaborate closely with church staff to accomplish the overall mission of the church.
• Manage ministry budgets and resources responsibly.
• Help lead Easter, Christmas, Nights of Worship, and other church-wide events.
• Continually evaluate and strengthen ministry effectiveness.

Spiritual Qualifications

• A vibrant and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
• A clear calling to pastoral ministry.
• A life that models biblical character and spiritual maturity.
• Agreement with the doctrine, mission, and values of Grapevine's First Baptist Church.

Professional Qualifications

• Three or more years of worship leadership experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree required. 
• Experience leading worship and production ministries.
• Strong vocal leadership with proficiency on guitar or keyboard preferred.

Leadership Competencies

• Exceptional communication and relational skills.
• Ability to recruit, equip, and lead volunteers.
• Strong organizational and planning abilities.
• Experience developing ministry leaders.
• Proficiency with Planning Center, ProPresenter, Ableton Live, and related technologies.
