Christ Church is located in Phoenix, Arizona with congregations in Mesa, Gilbert, Central Phoenix and Peoria, reaching over 4,500 people weekly. At Christ Church, they fly one flag—Christ crucified. Since launching in 2012 with a core group, Christ Church has grown significantly in Phoenix in weekly attendance across multiple congregations in the city. They offer vibrant worship services where people experience the manifest presence of God. About the Spanish Ministry Pastor

The Spanish Ministry Pastor for the Mesa Congregation serves as the primary leader of Christ Church’s Spanish-speaking ministry, located at the Mesa congregation. This pastor delivers biblical, application-driven preaching in Spanish, shepherds families, recruits and equips volunteer leaders, and fosters full cultural integration with the broader Christ Church Mesa family.

Rather than operating as an isolated ministry, this role requires a leader who builds a strong team while ensuring there is no "us versus them" dynamic—weaving the Spanish ministry seamlessly into the life, standards, and mission of Christ Church.

The Spanish Ministry Pastor's responsibilities include:

Preaching & Weekend Experience

• Deliver clear, expository, and application-driven sermons in Spanish during weekend gatherings.
• Ensure the preaching and worship environment reflect the theological depth, energy, and excellence of Christ Church.
• Lead weekend service execution while working collaboratively with Mesa campus pastoral leadership.
• Preaching Alignment: Works in partnership with pastoral leadership on message content and exposition.

Pastoral Care & Shepherding

• Function as an accessible, relationally warm pastor who shepherds Spanish-speaking individuals and families.
• Exercise high emotional maturity when navigating complex and sensitive situations, including immigration dynamics and pastoral support for families in crisis.
• Wisely guide and disciple individuals coming from diverse background contexts into deep theological alignment with the doctrines of grace.

Team Development & Integration

• Recruit, train, coach, and multiply volunteer leaders and deacon teams.
• Drive a culture of unity, ensuring the Spanish-speaking congregation is fully integrated with Christ Church Mesa.
• Work collaboratively with central and campus ministry teams to align with church-wide initiatives and discipleship rhythms.
• Demonstrate a willingness to manage and strengthen an established ministry rather than feeling the need to continually reinvent it.

Education and Experience

• Ministry Experience: Proven track record of ministry leadership, team building, and public preaching. Previous church staff experience is preferred.
• Theological Training: Undergraduate degree preferred; formal seminary or theological training is a plus (or a commitment to pursue theological education).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Bilingual Fluency: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in both Spanish and English, allowing for fluent preaching in Spanish and seamless collaboration with English-speaking staff.
• Preaching Excellence: Clear, compelling expository preaching gift (demonstrating strong application and biblical clarity).
• Theological Acumen: Ability to engage thoughtfully with people from various denominations and backgrounds ground them in biblical theology.
• Leader Mobilization: Proven ability to rally, equip, and retain volunteers and lay leaders.

Personal Characteristics and Qualifications

• Biblical Qualifications: Married male meeting the qualifications of a pastor outlined in 1 Timothy 3.
• Core Culture Fit: "Hungry, Humble, Smart" – highly self-motivated, relationally intelligent, and collaborative.
• Pastoral Maturity: Possesses high emotional intelligence (EQ) and spiritual stability to handle sensitive pastoral situations with wisdom and grace.
