What it's like to live in Horseshoe Bay, TX
Horseshoe Bay is a stunning "lifestyle destination" nestled in the Texas Hill Country on the shores of Lake LBJ, the state's only constant-level lake. Life here is defined by active living; it is a community where residents—historically highly successful retirees—remain physically active through world-class golf, pickleball, and boating. However, the area is currently undergoing a dynamic transformation. With 10,000 new homes projected over the next decade, the city is evolving from a resort community into a hometown for a new wave of remote-working young families drawn to the area's safety and natural beauty.
For a ministry family, this offers a unique blend of established wisdom and new energy. You would be living in a community that feels like a retreat, yet offers access to excellent schools in nearby Marble Falls and Llano. Ministry here often happens outside the office—on the golf course, pickleball/tennis courts, or at the marina—connecting with a congregation that is generous, eager to serve, and ready to welcome younger leadership.
