Meet Cypress Meadows Community Church

Cypress Meadows Community Church is a non-denominational church in Clearwater, Florida, serving the Tampa Bay area. In a region filled with large, program-driven churches, Cypress occupies a unique and meaningful space in the community. The heart of Cypress is to create a safe, authentic environment where people can belong even before they believe. Services are casual and welcoming, with modern worship and messages that make Scripture practical, accessible, and deeply relevant to everyday life.

Cypress has a strong passion for the next generation, grounded in the conviction that becoming a truly multi-generational church begins with intentionally reaching kids and students. Cypress has shaped its ministry around the firm belief that the church is more than a building or a highly produced Sunday event; it’s a vibrant family supporting one another in life and faith, growing in Jesus, and sharing that journey together. Cypress holds to the historic foundations of the Christian faith while striving to make that faith meaningful, engaging, and approachable for people from every walk of life.

About the Next Gen Pastor

We envision a highly relational, energetic, and creative leader of leaders with a passion for the next generation. The Next Gen Pastor will work closely with the families of Cypress to build engaging kids and youth ministries. This person will develop a growing team of fully equipped, deeply invested servant leaders who will be instrumental in making a multigenerational impact with a next generation focus.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading vibrant next gen ministries, shaping a healthy volunteer culture, and raising up new leaders who serve with passion and excellence. They must be a self-starter with a pioneering spirit—ready to explore creative solutions in a setting with unique challenges and opportunities.

This role will oversee both Cypress Kids and Cypress Youth, providing direct leadership to one ministry while empowering a strong volunteer team to lead the other. As the church and ministry grow, this position is designed to expand into an executive-level Pastor of Family & Next Gen role.

The Next Gen Pastor’s responsibilities include:

Volunteer Recruiting and Leadership Development

  • Partner with the Lead Pastor to build a serve team culture where people experience community with others, are shaped to look more like Jesus, and given opportunities to joyfully express their faith in life-giving ways.
  • Collaborate with staff to design a centralized strategy for recruiting, onboarding, and developing serve team members across all ministries.
  • Develop a clear serve team structure that defines how volunteers are connected, growing, and celebrated throughout the year.
  • Build a leadership pipeline that identifies, develops, and multiplies leaders at every level of ministry.
  • Equip and empower fully volunteer-led ministries that reflect the mission and values of Cypress.

Cypress Kids (Babies through Grade 5)

  • Lead a volunteer team that provides a warm, enthusiastic presence—instilling confidence in parents and sparking excitement in kids.
  • Coordinate serve-team schedules to ensure safe ratios in every classroom, with a minimum of two adult leaders present.
  • Design and maintain engaging physical environments that communicate belonging, safety, and fun.
  • Provide interactive, age-appropriate programming that makes Scripture come to life through energetic music, creative storytelling, and hands-on activities.
  • Foster experiences that make kids excited to attend, ready to return, and eager to bring friends.
  • Partner with parents to equip and encourage faith at home, reinforcing what’s taught on Sundays.
  • Model stewardship through careful planning and management of the Cypress Kids annual budget.

Cypress Youth (Grades 6-12)

  • Develop and lead a comprehensive youth ministry strategy that partners with parents to ensure every student has a place to belong, a caring adult leader, and opportunities to grow in faith.
  • Build a youth ministry that begins with Sunday engagement, connecting students with peers and integrating them into the broader life of the church.
  • Create midweek gatherings and seasonal experiences that deepen connection, foster belonging, and encourage outreach.
  • Leverage special events throughout the year that strengthen relationships, attract new families, and connect them into the life of Cypress.
  • Lead and equip a volunteer team who are present, relational, and consistent in students’ lives through weekly programming, small groups, and events.
  • Model stewardship through careful planning and management of the Cypress Youth annual budget.

Cypress Young Adults (College Age & Twenty-Somethings)

  • Develop a vision and strategy for an engaging young adult ministry at Cypress.
