Keeping Christ in our Classrooms! First Christian Academy is a Christian school that exists to teach children to grow like Jesus in knowledge, service, and wisdom. We will be offering Grades K2 - 9th for the 2026/2027 school year!

Founded in 1999, as a ministry of First Baptist Church of Richmond Hill, First Christian Academy seeks to glorify God by developing the active and creative thinking of His children. We stress the total development of each child: spiritual, moral, intellectual, social, emotional, and physical.

Our desire is to partner with the family to provide each student with an optimal education experience in a nurturing Christian environment.

First Baptist Church of Richmond Hill is a community-driven church dedicated to glorifying God and connecting people to Jesus. Located in Richmond Hill, Georgia, the church offers a variety of ministries for all ages, including Kids Ministry, Student Ministry, and programs specifically for adults and seniors. About the Principal

First Christian Academy is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and highly relational Principal to lead the school into its next season of growth. The Principal will report to the school board and work closely with the Pastoral Staff of First Baptist Church.The ideal candidate will seamlessly blend relational warmth with strong academic administration, bringing a "big school mindset" to policy execution, standard-setting, and teacher development. First and foremost, this leader must be a Spiritual Shepherd who is highly visible in the hallways, loves the school, and loves the students.

About First Christian Academy: Founded in 1999 as a ministry of First Baptist Church of Richmond Hill, First Christian Academy seeks to glorify God by developing the active and creative thinking of His children. Located in a military-friendly community, FCA partners with families to provide an optimal educational experience in a nurturing Christian environment. The school currently serves 343 students, operates with a budget of $2.8 million, and employs approximately 65 staff members. Currently serving preschool through middle school, FCA is actively expanding and will launch a 9th-grade program next year. 

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Academic & Administrative Leadership: Provide strong daily administration, implement clear policies, and ensure consistency across the school. Take a detail-oriented approach to operations, including managing budget numbers.
  • Experience with accreditation processes is a bonus. 
  • Teacher Development & Accountability: Lovingly hold teachers accountable, conduct regular performance evaluations, and provide constructive feedback. Lead impactful teacher training and facilitate Biblical devotions to spiritually and professionally pour into the staff.
  • Culture & Relationships: Maintain a relaxed, comforting presence with parents and students, ensuring families feel welcomed and loved. Bring fresh eyes to build a healthy, unified internal culture while maintaining professional boundaries and enforcing policies without favoritism.
  • Church Integration: Foster a unified relationship between the school and First Baptist Church, actively championing the integration of church ministries (such as VBS) into the classrooms and vice versa.
  • Community Expansion & Fundraising: Build relationships within the wider community (e.g., attending Chamber of Commerce meetings) and cast vision for the school's future. Utilize business acumen and fundraising knowledge to help navigate space challenges and support the ongoing expansion into high school.

What you bring

The following describes many of the characteristics of the ideal candidate for the Principal:

Education and Experience

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in teaching or administration, ideally paired with some business/management experience. Experience or knowledge of high school education is highly beneficial as the school expands.
  • Education: A Master's degree is preferred. The candidate must have completed (or be willing to complete) the ACSI principal course.
  • Theological Alignment: Adhere to the Baptist Faith & Message 2000 (BF&M2000). The candidate must be firmly rooted in scripture and able to stand strong in Biblical beliefs. There is also a desire for this individual to become a member at FBC Richmond Hill.
