Meet Grace Church
Grace Church in Roseville, Minnesota, is a welcoming, nondenominational community grounded in a simple vision: helping anyone find Jesus and find hope. About the Senior Pastor
The Senior Pastor’s responsibility will be to lead a church that is walking alongside one another, finding hope and life in Jesus by providing pastoral leadership for staff, elders, and the congregation in a way that enables Grace Church to carry out and stay on our mission to grow and multiply disciples.

The Senior Pastor's responsibilities include:
Preaching
- Lead the congregation into encounters with Jesus through gospel-focused teaching and preaching and function as the primary preaching pastor.
- Communicating the vision for Christ’s church with clarity, courage, and passion. You will use your ability to communicate truth clearly to all ages, relying on the power of the Holy Spirit to transform lives.
- Develop a teaching team and/or network so that you preach no more than 42 weeks per year, but not less than 36 weeks. You will shepherd and lead this preaching team, helping maintain a consistency of messaging, tone, depth, and quality among the group.
Vision
- You will have shared oversight of the staff teams in partnership with the executive team/pastor and it is understood that you will help sculpt the team to best mobilize the vision and strategy as they develop as directed by the Holy Spirit.
- You will be the lead vision caster, providing strong, vision-casting leadership to the Board of Elders, staff, and the church body.
- You will provide strategic leadership and direction for the church in partnership with the elders and ministry staff.
Culture/Shepherding
- You will foster relationships with staff teams, encourage spiritual growth within the team, craft and renew vision, and contribute to developing the culture in the church.
- Train and disciple executive-level leaders, equipping and empowering the church to do the work of ministry (Eph 4).
- Build a cohesive leadership team, create and reinforce clarity around the reason Grace Church exists.
- Provide pastoral support for staff and congregation in tandem with Care Pastor.
- Partner with the Executive pastor in overseeing the weekend worship services.
- You will build/engage a network of pastors and mentors to support you in the work of the ministry, ensuring you are cared and have access to wise counsel.
Governance
The Board of Elders has created an Operational Structure that clearly defines the roles and responsibilities of the Board of Elders, Lead Pastor, Executive Pastor, and Executive Team.
- The model proposes an Executive Pastor position so that the workload and staff management burden does not fall on solely on the Lead pastor, resulting in better decisions and more ministry opportunities to be considered. The Executive Pastor reports to the Lead Pastor.
- The model allows the Lead Pastor to lead more effectively and focus his efforts on bring glory to God through responsibilities outlined above.


What you bring
The following describes many of the characteristics of the ideal candidate for the Senior Pastor:
Education and Experience
- Master of Divinity or a Doctorate’s Degree preferred.
- A bachelor’s Degree is required.
- 5+ years of professional pastoral experience is preferred.
Personal Characteristics and Qualifications
- Meet the spiritual, personal, and character qualifications of an elder found in 1 Timothy 3:1–7 and Titus 1:6–9 and exhibit the fruit of the Spirit as found in Galatians 5:22-23.
- Have a deep commitment to prayer and a love for God’s Word.
- Have a relational style of leadership and ministry, skilled in communication, and demonstrate high emotional intelligence in relationships.
- Demonstrate a heart of humility and a posture of ongoing learning and development.
- Be in full agreement with our Statement of Faith and Practice, mission, vision, and values.
- Be a member in good standing of Grace Church.
- Commit to championing our four values in all that you do.
Work Schedule/Environment
- Work is accomplished primarily indoors in an administrative environment.
- Frequent 8+ hour days should be expected.
- Full-Time, minimum of 40 hours per week. Weekend services. Flexible schedule as duties require.
