About the Campus Pastor

The TVC Middleville Campus Pastor position is a full-time position. The primary focus of this position is to provide leadership and direction to the campus staff and make sure the campus is living out the DNA of Thornapple Valley Church. This position needs to have the capability to be organized and get tasks done in a timely manner. The position needs to be able to take direction and vision from the Senior Pastor and follow the mission and vision of Thornapple Valley Church. This role involves overseeing the Middleville Campus staff and volunteers, while also connecting with the local community and fostering spiritual growth among the campus attenders.

The Campus Pastor's responsibilities include:

  • Provide leadership and oversight to campus staff and high-capacity volunteer leaders.
  • Lead the weekend services (includes baptism, communion, etc.) and create teams for platform duties.
  • Develop, train, and oversee the Guest Services team and maintain adequate staffing for weekend services.
  • Support Middleville Campus volunteer leaders in Middleville-specific events.
  • Attend all scheduled staff and leadership meetings. 
  • Work with your direct supervisor (Executive Pastor of Campuses) to create & maintain the campus budget.
  • Build relationships with the people who attend your campus and build a relationship with the Middleville community with the goal of reaching more people for God.
  • Be the primary communicator between the Middleville Campus and the Hastings Campus.
  • Oversee the grounds of your campus, if needed, along with the inside building (cleaning & maintenance).
  • Oversee the big events for your campus.
  • Serve on the Central Pastor Team
  • Other duties as assigned by your direct supervisor (Executive Pastor of Campuses).

Education and Experience

  • High School required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 5 years of related experience.

  • You will be setting an example for others in this role. As such, you will need to exhibit a Godly character - love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Galatians 5:22-23

  • You will need to process e-mails, phone calls, meetings, and information in a timely and forward-moving manner. 
  • Communicate
  • You will need to be able to passionately share TVC’s vision and values as you set expectations with staff, volunteers, and campus attenders.
  • Christ Follower
  • You must have a love for Christ and a desire to continue taking Next Steps in your relationship with Him.

  • You must be fully on board with TVC's mission of connecting people with God, support our values, be comfortable with second chair leadership, and support our passion of being a serving church for unchurched people.
