About the Executive Pastor
The Executive Pastor serves as the Senior Pastor’s leadership partner for the administrative, operational, and organizational life of University Baptist Church. This role ensures that the church’s mission of becoming and making disciples of Jesus is supported through healthy systems, wise stewardship, aligned staff leadership, and operational excellence—fully aligned with UBC’s Belonging–Preparing–Serving (BPS) strategy. As a member of the Pastoral Leadership Team, the Executive Pastor works collaboratively with the Senior Pastor and the Pastors of Belonging, Preparing, and Serving to cast vision, expand ministry, and advance the mission of University Baptist Church.

The Executive Pastor's responsibilities include:
Organizational & Administrative Leadership
- Oversee day-to-day administrative and operational functions of the church.
- Develop and maintain policies, systems, and procedures that support organizational clarity and effectiveness.
- Ensure alignment between ministry vision and operational execution.
- Lead organizational planning, workflow design, and process improvement.
Financial & Resource Stewardship
- Provide executive oversight of budgeting, financial planning, and reporting.
- Ensure strong internal controls, compliance, and responsible stewardship of church resources.
- Partner with leadership teams on long-range financial and capital planning.
- Support transparent communication related to financial priorities and ministry sustainability.
Facilities, Communications & Operations
- Oversee campus operations, facilities maintenance, risk management, and the use of UBC facilities by outside groups in ways that support the church’s mission and ministry.
- Ensure facilities and systems effectively support ministries of Belonging, Preparing, and Serving.
- Provide executive oversight of church-wide communications and branding.
- Strengthen internal systems and cross-departmental communication.
Staff Leadership & Strategic Partnership
- Directly supervise and develop administrative staff leaders through executive oversight that promotes ministry alignment, professional growth, and effective practices.Current Direct Reports: Building Superintendent, Office Manager, Senior Accountant, Communications Director, & Weekday Director.
- Foster a healthy staff culture marked by trust, collaboration, and accountability.
- Serve as a member of the Pastoral Leadership Team, working with fellow pastors to establish UBC’s goals and strategic priorities and collectively advise the Senior Pastor on organizational health, staffing, and operational effectiveness.

Education and Experience
- Education: Masters degree from an accredited Seminary required.
- Experience: Prior church work with previous staff supervision required. Skill in strategic planning and facilitation preferred.
