Meet ARC-PA

The Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) serves as the nation’s independent accrediting organization for physician assistant (PA) educational programs. At its core, ARC-PA exists to ensure that future PAs receive a high-quality education by establishing accreditation standards and evaluating programs across the country. Its work ultimately supports one important goal: preparing competent healthcare professionals who will provide exceptional care to patients.

Behind that mission is a team of dedicated professionals who are passionate about excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. As a fully remote, financially stable organization, ARC-PA has built a culture rooted in integrity, accountability, and service. The team partners closely with PA programs, offering guidance, conducting accreditation reviews and site visits, and helping institutions navigate the accreditation process with consistency and transparency.

As the physician assistant profession continues to grow, ARC-PA is investing in its own future as well. The organization is strengthening its leadership team, expanding operational capacity, and implementing new technologies, including Salesforce, to improve efficiency, enhance collaboration, and better support PA programs nationwide. It’s an exciting season of growth, creating meaningful opportunities for leaders who want to shape the future of healthcare education while serving an organization with a clear and lasting mission.

About the VP of Information Technology

ARC-PA is seeking its first-ever Vice President of Information Technology Services, a newly created executive leadership role that reflects the organization’s commitment to investing in its future. Reporting directly to the President and CEO, the VP of IT will serve as a strategic partner to the Executive Leadership Team, ensuring technology not only supports the organization’s day-to-day operations but also advances its long-term mission. This leader will develop and execute a multi-year technology strategy, oversee the continued implementation and optimization of enterprise platforms like Salesforce, strengthen cybersecurity and data governance, and manage the organization’s technology budget and vendor relationships. More than a technical expert, ARC-PA is looking for a collaborative, business-minded leader who can translate complex technology into practical solutions, build strong relationships across the organization, and lead with humility, emotional intelligence, and a service-oriented mindset. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced IT executive who enjoys leading organizational change, empowering teams, and using technology to help a mission-driven organization continue to grow and serve the physician assistant education community nationwide.

The VP of Information Technology's responsibilities include:

Strategic Technology Leadership & Planning

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive, multi-year technology roadmap aligned with ARC-PA’s mission and long-term goals.
  • Frame technology investments as strategic capabilities for the organization rather than isolated projects.
  • Conduct full reviews of enterprise technology and SaaS platforms to find opportunities for simplification, cost optimization, and business-led innovation.
  • Establish practical frameworks—including budgets, metrics, and milestones—to execute the technology vision.

Platform Enablement & Operations

  • Leverage modern, cloud-based and SaaS technologies to automate and streamline business processes across the remote organization.
  • Oversee complex platform implementations, taking the lead on the current Salesforce rollout and ensuring effective adoption across user groups.
  • Provide oversight for all IT functional areas, which includes Information Security, User Services, Network and Infrastructure, and Administrative Computing.

Financial & Vendor Management

  • Develop and manage the IT department's budget in collaboration with executive leadership.
  • Manage all technology vendor relationships, contracts, and statements of work.
  • Review technology contracts, project estimates, feasibility, costs, timelines, and system compatibility.

Governance, Security, & Compliance

  • Ensure the organization maintains compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations related to privacy, access, and information security, such as FERPA, GLBA, and PCI-DSS.
  • Serve as the primary advisor to the IT Governance Committee regarding best practices for technology procurement and implementation.

Team Leadership & Business Partnership

  • Build and model a strong partnership between the IT department and ARC-PA business leaders.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the IT staff, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.
  • Empower the IT team to act as trusted strategic consultants who listen deeply and translate business needs into effective technology solutions.
  • Communicate clearly and consistently about the purpose and value of technology initiatives to help guide the organization through changes.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field from an accredited institution, along with a minimum of seven years of experience leading technology resources, IT operations, and technical teams; or Master’s degree in a related field with a minimum of five years of progressively responsible technology leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated success leading enterprise technology functions within complex organizations.
  • Proven experience leading organizational change, driving technology initiatives, and managing large-scale transitions.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience serving within a higher education, accreditation, healthcare, or nonprofit organization.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks, including FERPA, GLBA, and PCI-DSS.
  • Experience implementing, managing, and optimizing cloud-based technologies, including Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure, and enterprise SaaS platforms such as Salesforce.
  • Demonstrated success developing and executing long-term technology strategies that align with organizational goals.

Preferred Experience with Platforms

  • The organization utilizes Microsoft 365, including the Office Suite, SharePoint, Teams, Microsoft Forms, InTune, and Microsoft Defender, along with Azure Servers, Azure Active Directory (2FA), and Azure Single Sign-On (SSO) to provide a secure and connected technology environment. Collaboration and communication are supported through Zoom, ChatGPT, Box, Dropbox, and VPN technologies, while core business operations rely on platforms such as Salesforce, WordPress (Bluehost), Mailchimp, SurveyMonkey, SproutVideo, EventMobi, Zoho Desk, Zoho Vault, RefTab, QuickBooks Online, Certify, and Navan. ARC-PA also prioritizes cybersecurity through solutions including KnowBe4 security awareness training and N-Able Cove backup and disaster recovery, ensuring the organization maintains a secure, scalable, and efficient technology infrastructure as it continues to grow.

Personal Characteristics & Qualifications

  • ARC-PA is seeking a Vice President of Information Technology Services who is a collaborative, business-minded leader with unquestionable integrity and high emotional intelligence. The ideal candidate will be a trusted partner who leads with humility, communicates complex technology in clear, practical terms, and builds strong relationships across the organization. This individual will be a strategic yet hands-on leader who listens well, values collaboration, and guides organizational change with a calm, inclusive, and service-oriented approach. Above all, they will use technology to advance ARC-PA’s mission while fostering trust, innovation, and operational excellence.
