Meet Fairview Missionary Church

Fairview Missionary Church is a friendly, stable faith community located in the scenic lakeside town of Angola, Indiana, surrounded by over 100 lakes and close to Pokagon State Park. More than just a weekend gathering, the church is driven by a clear mission: "Helping people take their next step toward Jesus". Whether you are a college student at nearby Trine University or a family looking for deep community roots, Fairview serves as a "melting pot" where people of all ages and backgrounds can find a genuinely welcoming spiritual home.

At the center of everything Fairview does is a rock-solid commitment to the Word of God. They hold a high view of Scripture, believing the Bible is inspired, infallible, and the ultimate source of truth. Their weekend services are characterized by a deep desire for an authentic connection with God, intentionally avoiding performative shows in favor of genuine, Spirit-led worship. Guided by a cultural pillar of "unity over preference," their worship and solid biblical teaching are designed to shepherd the congregation and bridge the gap across all generations.

The heart of Fairview Missionary Church is seen in its desire to function as a close-knit family that truly supports one another. With a booming children's ministry and the largest youth program in the area, they are deeply passionate about nurturing the next generation and building strong, stable families. Fairview is a generous and authentic extended family where pretension is left at the door, relationships are celebrated, and everyone is invited to experience a beautiful picture of God's kingdom together.

About the Worship Pastor

Fairview Missionary Church is seeking a Worship Pastor whose greatest passion is loving people and guiding them into the presence of God. Instead of focusing solely on a flawless stage production, this role is truly about shepherding a dedicated family of musicians and tech volunteers along with the congregation, creating an environment where every team member is valued and spiritually nourished. Working hand-in-hand with the pastoral team, this leader will help design worship experiences that bridge generations and celebrate the church's core value of "unity over preference". Ultimately, Fairview desires a humble, authentic team player who cares deeply about the spiritual formation of the church, helping the entire congregation take their next step toward Jesus.

The Worship Pastor's responsibilities include:

  • Service Planning: Collaborate with the pastoral team to design corporate worship services, including selecting songs, mapping the service order, and coordinating technical details.
  • Leading Corporate Worship: Vocally and musically lead the congregation in singing before the throne of God during weekend services and other events throughout the church.
  • Worship Team Leadership: Recruit, audition, schedule, and spiritually shepherd a volunteer roster of 40-50+ musicians and vocalists.
  • Tech Team Oversight: Coordinate and lead the technical volunteers responsible for audio, stage lighting, and video streaming.
  • Administrative Preparation: Manage the necessary administrative details of the ministry, such as preparing and distributing practice resources like song maps and chord charts to the band early in the week.
  • Technology Management: Operate, learn, and oversee the church's digital and stage equipment, including Multitracks, Pro Presenter, digital sound boards, computers, and LED walls.
  • Online Worship Coordination: Organize and manage the church's digital worship experience across its YouTube channel, social media platforms, and the Fairview App.
  • Staff Communication & Collaboration: Act as an engaged team player by participating in weekly staff meetings and maintaining open, regular communication with the Executive and Lead Pastors.
  • Personal Spiritual Disciplines: Maintain a growing, authentic faith through consistent Bible reading, prayer, fasting, confession, and personal worship.
  • Evangelism & Outreach: Actively develop relationships with unchurched individuals to help the church fulfill the Great Commission.
  • Cross-Ministry Support: Willingly participate in "all hands" staff initiatives, functioning as a team player without ego and stepping in to help across the broader church body.

  • Spirit-Led: They need to be grounded in personal spiritual disciplines with a prayerful heart, prioritizing the Holy Spirit's guidance over simply executing a flawless musical set.

What it's like to live in Angola, IN

Living in Angola feels like stepping into a community that truly knows how to embrace the best of every season. At its heart, it is a classic, safe Midwestern small town where people genuinely look out for one another and you quickly become a familiar face around the neighborhood. There is a deep-rooted warmth here, from the quiet charm of our farming heritage to the vibrant energy that Trine University students bring to the streets during the school year. Families love the great local libraries, excellent area school options with open enrollment flexibility, and a thriving homeschool community. It’s the kind of place where family-friendly traditions matter, highlighted by wonderful free events like the spectacular Angola Balloons Aloft festival, where hot air balloons fill the sky and bring neighbors together.

The undisputed crown jewel of life here is our incredible lake culture. Steuben County is home to over 100 lakes, meaning you are never more than a few minutes away from the water. In the summer, our peaceful community truly comes alive as the population beautifully expands with folks eager to enjoy premier fishing, hunting, boating, and golfing. Right in town, kids and families love the local parks, bike trails, and the YMCA splash pad. Just down the road, Pokagon State Park serves as a year-round backyard for outdoor lovers, offering miles of lush hiking and biking trails in the warm months, and transforming into a winter wonderland with skiing and a legendary toboggan run when the snow falls.

What makes Angola especially unique is how perfectly positioned it is. You get to enjoy a peaceful, reasonable cost of living without ever feeling isolated. Thanks to the summer lake draw, we have a lot of amenities in town like several food options for a community our size, but when you want a change of pace, you are centrally located near everything. Fort Wayne is just a short drive away for a great mall and shopping day, and you can easily
