Meet HopeWorks

HopeWorks carries forward a vision first inspired in 1977 by founder Lynn Westergaard—to uplift low-income seniors, particularly widows, with hope, compassion, and practical support in their homes. Grounded in its Christian mission, HopeWorks enables seniors to age in place through essential weatherization and home repairs, reducing utility burdens and fostering dignity and independence. The organization reflects its values through spiritual engagement and hands-on service, empowering seniors to remain active and cared for within their communities.

In 2008, following Mr. Westergaard’s passing, Michael Kimsey took the helm as Executive Director, ushering in a new chapter of growth and innovation. Under Kimsey’s leadership, HopeWorks has expanded its service reach, rebranded from Resource Service Ministries to HopeWorks in 2016, and built new partnerships to strengthen its mission and impact. Kimsey’s achievements include streamlining operations, nurturing community involvement, and championing broad outreach efforts that continue to touch thousands of lives across Georgia, ensuring HopeWorks remains a beacon of hope for seniors most in need.
